[Madoka is sitting on her bed in her pyjamas. Her hair's loose, her knees are drawn up to her chest and her arms are wrapped around them. She doesn't look happy. Not at all. It's a little too dark to see her face properly, so you can't tell if she's been crying or not, but when she speaks, she sounds as if she might have just finished.]

... Hello there, everyone. Can I... um, is it okay if I ask everyone a favour? Could someone talk to me, please? I-I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight...

No, it's okay... lots of people know anyway, it's just that there's different timelines, so it gets complicated.

Um... w-well, basically, on my world, I'm a magical girl. Except it's not like in the TV shows... to get my magic, I had to make a contract with someone called Kyubey. We were allowed to make any wish we wanted to, and in exchange, we had to become magical girls and fight witches.

[Still on video, it's hard to conceal the confusion, which becomes shock, and then the flicker of a slightly uneasy look in her eyes at the mention fighting witches. Proooobably not a good idea to mention that she's a witch right now.]

I've never heard of a magical girl television program. It sounds like a difficult life, though, having a wish granted in exchange to fight.

It's okay. I think that it's a Japanese thing, so if you're a Westerner, I can see why you haven't heard of them before. And, well... being a magical girl and fighting didn't seem so bad at first. I-I mean, of course it was dangerous! I always knew there was a chance of getting hurt, or... or worse, and it was scary, but I really thought that if I was helping to keep people safe, it didn't matter. But - but that isn't just it at all. N-not in the end.

It could be that I'm a Westerner, but most of the community is in the future for me, as it's 1976 where I am. And... I think I can see where you're coming from, being in a world with danger everywhere you turn and wanting to protect others.

Y-you see, in my w-world, the things we fight, the witches, they're not people. O-or at least, we - we didn't think they were, because they're like monsters, and all they do is hurt people. But - what really happens to magical girls like me in the end is that-- we turn into them, Lily-san! And Homura-chan tried to warn us all, but by the time anyone else listened, it was too late, and my friend S-sayaka-chan had already--

There's a powerful man, terribly skilled in Dark magic, who has been gaining a lot of power over the past few years. But I'm not here to talk about my world's problems. I think you've got enough on your mind without worrying about my world too.

[She listens attentively for a while, and then horror grows on her face. Madokaaaaaa you need all the hugs. 8(] Dear God.... That's awful! I'm so sorry for what happened to your friend. Perhaps, there's a way to save her here on the community?

Heh... I guess so. Even so, I - I really hope you'll stay safe, Lily-san, since it's so dangerous.

[Madoka shakes her head, looking tired and only a little like she's going to start crying again.] N-no... it's too late for that. You see, after Sayaka-chan - we tried to fight her so that we could get her to ch-change back. Kyoko-chan thought that maybe if she heard our voices, she might-- but nothing worked. So - so Homura-chan had to...
